Cincinnati Bengals +3.5 vs. Detroit Lions – Everyone and their brother is on the Lions in this game, but we’re going to zig as the rest of the world zags. The Bengals absolutely look like they’ve given up on the season, and that’s why Marvin Lewis isn’t going to get his contract renewed in a couple weeks. This is his last home game in the Queen City, and that might prove to be the little extra bit of oomph his team needs to put up a fight. The Lions are playing for their playoff lives and shouldn’t theoretically struggle against a team that has long been eliminated from postseason contention in the weaker AFC. Still, Detroit can’t run the ball with Ameer Abdullah effectively being benched and Tion Green not ready for this prime role, and throwing the ball against the Bengals isn’t always easy. This game reeks of an upset to us.

San Francisco 49ers +5.5 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars – The 49ers have won all three of their starts with Jimmy Garoppolo under center, and they could have won each of those games by significantly more points. Robbie Gould has kicked 15 field goals in these last three contests. If even a couple of those drives end in touchdowns, we’re talking about blowout wins and not narrow victories. The Jaguars are playing their best football of the season, but the last time they went to the West Coast, they were surprisingly beaten by Arizona. This San Francisco team is a lot better in its current form than the Arizona squad that beat the Jags. Jacksonville is set for some regression.

Oakland Raiders +9 at Philadelphia Eagles – We feel like we have two shots with this pick. Doug Pederson has already stated that he could put Nate Sudfeld under center if this game means nothing, and it won’t mean anything if the Vikings happen to lose to the Packers at Lambeau Field on Saturday. Even if the Eagles are playing to lock up the No. 1 seed in the NFC, this is a boatload of points. Jack Del Rio is one of the best coaches in the NFL, and the Raiders aren’t going to give up even though their playoff chances suffered a death blow in the AFC after losing a heartbreaking game last week to Dallas. Let’s not forget that the Eagles were down 20-7 to the Giants last week before rallying to win. If Oakland gets off to a good start, it’ll be really tough for Philadelphia to cover these nine points.
